Classes At Art Mundo
Basic Screen Printing
From learning how to stretch a screen to pulling your first print edition,
this class will provide an overview of basic screen printing techniques.
Experience the thrill of trading prints among the participants at the end of the class.
Two 4 class sessions are offered:
Session 1 - February 27 & 29, March 5 & 7 • Session 2 - March 12, 14, 19 and 21
The class will include two optional open studios in which to work outside of class.

Beginning Block Printing
This four-class workshop will teach the participant basic block printing,
from design to finished print edition. Instruction will investigate
texture, positive and negative space, design
and composition, transferring and carvingthe design,
printing and the nuances of a print edition.

Papier Maché
March 26 & 28
This two-class workshop will introduce you to the possibilities of paper mache,
which dates back to the Han Dynasty (BC 202 - AD 220).
Explore your imagination as you create a papier mache "critter" of your own choosing.
An optional activity will be to construct a functional tray.
Day 1, March 26 (3 hours): Participants will construct an armature and papier mache the surface.
Day 2, March 28 (3 hours): Participants will decorate the surface of the papier mache object.

Paper Painting
April 2
Enjoy three hours of creative release through the activity
of painting paper. Various paper painting techniques will be covered,
including dry brush, basic imprinting, pattern painting
and surface build-up and experimentation.
You will leave with a collection of hand-painted paper
suitable for collage, book making, scrapbooking and stationery among others.

This class is age appropriate for 18 years and older.
Painted Paper Collage
April 4
Combine the "cut and paste" skills you learned in kindergarten
with the sophistication you've acquired through the years to create beautiful
one-of-a-kind pieces of art. This collage is much different than the
traditional form which uses pre-printed found items. The collage will be
created totally from painted papers cut into various shapes. Register at artmundo.org.
This class is designed for ages 18 and up.
Paper Making
April 9
Learn the ancient art of paper making in this three hour class.
You will experiment with added materials to give your papers an artisan style.
Papers made in this class can be utilized in many creative ways including both block
and screen printing, book making, scrap booking, note cards
